Malliouhana Hotel and Spa — Anguilla’s first luxury resort set on a bluff between Meads Bay and Long Bay. All 88 of its spacious, high-ceilinged suites and guest rooms have a full ocean view. Conde Nast Traveler just named its restaurant, run by chef Michael Rostang, as the best hotel for food in the Caribbean. Its new full service spa is one of the largest in the Caribbean. CuisinArt Resort and Spa — With 93 suites and guest rooms situated along Rendezvous Bay, this upscale getaway has a reputation for luxurious living and a holistic menu, much of which is grown in the property’s own hydroponic gardens. Suites range from $400 to $705. www.cuisinartresort.com/

Cap Juluca — Situated on a scythe of sand between the sea and a sea pond, this resort has earned a for hip luxury. Its guest suites occupy 18 Moorish-inspired beachfront villas along Maunday’s Bay — Daily rates range from $400 to $825 — www.capjuluca.com

Altamer — Designed by architect Myron Goldfinger, Altamer’s three magnificent villas are set on Shoal Bay West. Each features art from a different area, Brazil, Russia and Africa. Smokey’s — There’s no sign on the road (or Web site), but knowledgeable locals can point the way to this funky but fine beach bar on Cove Bay.
