Get Your Landscaping Off The Ground

So the pool is finally installed, and for all it’s swimming time. But that’s not to say your project is done: far from it, in fact. Just plopping a concrete box in the ground and filling it with water is hardly a noteworthy swimming design. If you don’t mind and from your upper-crust neighbors, feel free to enjoy the and call it good. If you want your to look as good as it feels, however, your job isn’t finished.

There are many things to consider when planning your ’s landscaping. How much room do you have to work with?

The Problem With Vacations

Something I think Americans have a problem with is vacations. Although most of us feel lucky to take a week off or a few days here and there, it’s rare for Americans to take vacations like our European or Australian counterparts who may take as much as a month off at a time. Sure, we enjoy some time off to recoup from work, but I think the problem here is that Americans don’t know how to relax. Whereas others take the time to study the culture of a different locale, Americans rush from one spot to another snapping photos along the way. If you’ve ever seen the movie, “If it’s Tuesday, this must be Belgium,” you know what I mean. Our frenetic pace is puzzling to outsiders who do not understand why we don’t take the time to truly enjoy the local scenery.

Part of our problem is our multicultural society which has made us a bit more competitive than most. We are always trying to stay one step ahead of our competition, our coworkers, and our neighbors. When we take time off, we’re never too far from a telephone and the Internet. I’m just as guilty as anyone in this regards; I don’t think I’ve been unplugged from e-mail since the 1980’s. Being in Florida, I always chuckle when I see someone on the beach working diligently on their laptop. I’m sure they are not appreciating the scenery and for all they might as well be back in the office. I think the reason why we’re like this is we’re afraid that something might go wrong if we cannot be contacted to answer questions or solve a problem.

Americans rarely take a two week vacation. The last one I took was years ago on my honeymoon with my wife. The first week was fine, but by the second week I was becoming itchy to get back to work. We even start to feel guilty for taking so much time off. Small wonder that Americans are past masters of the long weekend as opposed to taking true vacations.

When we do decide to take a vacation we either want to see something new or something familiar which we rarely get a chance to appreciate. As for me, it’s fly fishing in Montana. Regardless of where we really want to go, we inevitably have to deal with family commitments. For those of you who have moved far from home, you know exactly what I mean. You are expected to return with the kids year after year thereby eating up your precious vacation days. Instead of visiting Vegas or the Caribbean, you find yourself in Chillicothe, Ohio. Such is the price for moving out of town.

The concept of the vacation is to relax, broaden our horizons, and refocus, thereby making us better workers. But because of our obsession with staying connected to work and our competitiveness, I don’t believe we know how to relax and often consider vacations a waste of time. As an aside, have you ever met someone who proudly proclaims he hasn’t taken a vacation in a number of years? Somehow I am reminded of the proverb, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

Instead of taking a real vacation, I know a lot of people who would rather not waste their time and use a virtual reality simulator like the one used in the Schwarzenegger Movie, “Total Recall.” This might be nice, but then again I don’t think anything can truly simulate catching a cutthroat trout in the chilly waters of the Flathead River in Montana.

Electric Kettle Often Used To Brew Hot Beverages

For all , many items often referred to as an electric kettle can also be called coffee makers. Tea, hot chocolate and many other beverages the require heated water for brewing are often referred to as an electric kettle and there are two basic style in which they are available. The jug style is usually tall and slender and the traditional style may be rounder at the bottom with more liquid capacity, but the function of both brands is the same.

With many of the electric kettles, the liquid is placed in a reservoir and the product through which the heated water is to flow is placed in a separate basket or filter, to prevent it from ending up in the finished beverage. When the unit is turned on, it heats the water and pumps it into the dry product where it steeps for several seconds before returning to the jug where it is stored until used.

On many of the electric kettles, the water temperature is controlled so as not to overheat or boil away as steam. There also is usually a heating surface on which the jug rests to keep the contents warm. Many also have automatic shut offs that turn the entire unit off at the end of a predetermined time.

Convenience Is Benefit Of Electric Kettle

Many people prefer to heat their water using their old standby stove top kettle but find the convenience of using an electric kettle advantageous in a couple of ways. To begin with the water is never over heated and the brewing process takes the guess work out of how much of the grounds to use. Making coffee is simpler with an electric kettle as the coffee can go into a paper filter or filter pack instead of having loose grounds over which the water has to be poured.

While using tea bags may be easier with a stovetop kettle, the electric kettle can be used to heat water for tea and kept hot in the bottom of the kettle between cups. It is also easier to make enough water for multiple cups at the same time. Some folks place the bags in the bottom of the electric kettle and when the hot water drips down into the reservoir, it begins to steep the tea. By the time all of the water has run its course, there is a pot of fresh brewed tea available for consumption.

City man jailed for secret shower videos

Name suppression was lifted for Darryn Brent Watson when he appeared in the Invercargill District Court yesterday on a charge of intentionally making an intimate visual recording of another person.
The 33-year-old told police he installed the camera in June 2006 for the purposes of viewing his wife because he no longer got to see her naked.
However, a search warrant executed by police revealed most of the recordings on his computer were of his two step-daughters, aged 16 and 20, and that very few were of his wife. On one occasion he also viewed one of his step-daughters friends.
Judge Kevin Philips described the case as a gross abuse of trust from a man who was a father figure to his wifes children.
%26quot;For all these two girls were in reality your daughters.%26quot; The court was told Watson was able to view his wife and step-daughters, aged 16 and 20, via a cable which ran between the bathroom and a computer located in his office.
When someone went into the bathroom to take a shower he would go into the office and start recording them undressing, showering and then dressing again.
He would then save it on to the hard drive of his computer, Judge Philips said.
The judge said police were alerted to Watsons offending in December 2006, after his 16-year-old step-daughter found images of naked women in the recycle bin of his computer.
He had inadvertently left his computer unattended and logged on.
This was unusual for him as he was very protective of his computer, Judge Philips said.
Defence counsel Bill Dawkins said Watson couldnt explain why he did what he did but that he was relieved that he got caught.
Judge Philips said the two step-daughters were shocked, angered, confused and had been left numb by what had happened. %26quot;It all makes haunting reading,%26quot; he said.
